2017
To our family and friends:
Our lives forever changed this year as our little family grew to three. Camryn Eleanor was born on April 5th and has brought indescribable happiness into our lives. At eight months old, she loves being outside, smiling and giggling, saying ‘mama’ and ‘dadda’, and standing. She hates to be on her stomach (therefore is not crawling yet). She has been teething for months until finally two bottom teeth emerged just a couple of weeks ago. She attends daycare full-time in Issaquah and seems to enjoy painting, crafts, and playing and learning with her friends. With as much as she loves bath time, we decided to enroll her in swim lessons at our local pool this past October. She seemed very comfortable in the water and is showing signs of being a future water-bug just like her mom and dad.
As you’d imagine, our travel this past year was a bit less than usual. We spent a long relaxing weekend in Friday Harbor just before Camryn was born. In May, the three of us flew to Austin, TX, to celebrate a friend’s wedding which was Camryn’s first plane ride. We also rented a house on Lake Pend Oreille with the extended Olson family for a week where we enjoyed boating, jet skiing, playing cards, and relaxing.
Phillip had a two week work trip down to Ft. Lauderdale for a dive inspection. He enjoyed the warmer water temperature, but didn’t like heat and humidity of the Florida when he wasn’t in the water. While he missed his girls, he was able to spend some quality time with his Aunt Lori, Uncle Howard, and Cousin Joi. He continues to enjoy playing soccer and skiing in his (hard to find) free time and has already started teaching Camryn all his favorite activities.
I am excited to have Wednesdays off of work starting in January to spend one extra day with Camryn. I will split my remaining four working days between the Seattle Children’s main campus, our Bellevue clinic, and assisting in the OR. I am still enjoying work, however after having Camryn, I have gained a different perspective of many aspects of my job.
We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy 2018!
Love,
Phillip, Briana & Camryn
